Sunday 1st Feburary
Join Uncle Amos of Muurrrung Murai ("Good Sprit") for a fun, family-friendly morning of culture and nature.
Sing, listen and learn together through engaging storytelling, song and dance. Then head out on an easy guided walk through the wetlands. Discover native plants and animals while learning about traditional bush tucker, medicines and natural materials.
This uplifting cultural experience invites all ages to connect with Country and gain a deeper understanding of Aboriginal culture, customs and traditions.

Saturday 21st March
Through visual design, vibrant colours and storytelling, Saretta Fielding will guide you to explore Indigenous culture and create an artwork that shares a story using Aboriginal symbolism.

Friday 10th April
After a traditional Welcome to Country, we will gather around the campfire for Aboriginal storytelling with Aunty Theresa, a proud Gathang-speaking lore woman of the Worimi nation. (Suitable for Children 12+)

Wednesday 25th March
Join us for a fascinating program of Aboriginal speakers presenting on diverse aspects of cultural heritage and wetland management
Aunty Theresa from Spiritual Waterways will gather us is with a traditional Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony before sit down for an engaging day that celebrates indigenous knowledge, culture and care for Country. Presentations will cover cultural land and water management, the integration of traditional knowledge and the arts. Speakers include:Â Shellie Smith, University of Newcastle; Jacqui Allen, Miromaa Aboriginal Language and Technology Centre; Peter Gillam, Aurecon and Kieran Hampton and Kai Smith, Awabakal Local Aboriginal Land Council.
This event offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from Aboriginal voices sharing cultural perspectives and practical knowledge. Whether you work in environmental management, research, planning, cultural heritage, education or are simply interested in understanding more, this event provides a space for learning and conversation
