Venue Hire

Just 15 mins from the city, the Hunter Wetlands Centre offers a fantastic venue hire experience overlooking the Hunter Wetlands. Our facilities include the larger Melaleuca Room, the modern Egret Room, and newly renovated theatrette, each designed to provide a unique space that complements any occasion. Whether you're planning a corporate meeting, a workshop, community theatre night or a special celebration, our versatile rooms cater to a wide range of events, ensuring your guests enjoy not just the occasion but the beauty of the wetlands that surround them. At the Hunter Wetlands Centre, we're committed to offering a memorable experience, combining the ease of modern amenities with the charm of natural beauty.

Melaleuca Room

Our larger room, the Melaleuca Room is perfect for larger coporate meetings, team building days, or social occasions. Equipped with a large screen TV, one portable screen and teleconferencing capabilities, its perfect for any occasion. Looking out over the Wetlands, its a beautful location for your next event. Catering can be provided through the Wetlands Cafe.

  • Capacity: 80 (theatre style), 40 (with tables)
  • Ideal for corporate team days and larger gatherings
  • $330 full day, $190 half day

Egret Room

Our boardroom style meeting room is perfect for smaller meetings, breakout rooms, and team days out of the office. Fully equipped with a large screen TV, teleconferencing capabiliities and whiteboard. It's perfect for when you need to get out and take a break from the office. Catering can be provided through the Wetlands Cafe.

  • $120 full day, $80 half day

BHP Theatrette

Equipped with modern AV, a 120 inch screen, built in audio system (speakers and mic) it’s ideal for corporate events, community groups, training sessions and special screenings. Just minutes from Newcastle’s CBD, your guests can step out of the ordinary and into nature while enjoying a fully equipped, welcoming venue.

  • Capacity: 50 (fixed, tiered seating)
  • Ideal for conferences, training sessions, and community groups
  • $330 full day, $190 half day
