Celebrate culture, Country and connection this World Wetlands Day with Uncle Amos, at the Hunter Wetlands.

Join Uncle Amos of Muurrrung Murai ("Good Sprit") for a fun, family-friendly morning of culture and nature.

Sing, listen and learn together through engaging storytelling, song and dance. Then head out on an easy guided walk through the wetlands. Discover native plants and animals while learning about traditional bush tucker, medicines and natural materials.

This uplifting cultural experience invites all ages to connect with Country and gain a deeper understanding of Aboriginal culture, customs and traditions.

Uncle Amos is a Worimi, Biripi and Wiradjuri man and a respected member of Newcastle’s indigenous community. He has been actively involved in sport, youth mentoring, and community leadership roles and guiding cultural education tours in the Newcastle Region.
