World Wetlands Day Breakfast with the Birds Photography Tour

Join wildlife photographer Stephanie Owen for this special World Wetlands Day tour at the Ramsar Listed Hunter Wetlands Centre.

Whether your just starting in your photography journey, are 'migrating' over to birds from other subjects or are an advanced bird photographer with many captures in your album you will enjoy this outing and with Hunter local and wildlife photographer Stephanie Owen.

Discover how to get the most out of your camera by using the correct settings and equipment for birding, learn to track birds in flight, understand how to use obscured vantage points such as hides, and find eye-catching ways to frame shots.

By the end of this tour you will have learned tips and tricks to turn your bird photographs from blurry or boring to brilliant by bringing movement, life and colour into your shots.

Stephanie Owen is a Newcastle-based professional photographer who specialises in wildlife and landscape photography. Stephanie is an active member of the Hunter Bird Observers Club (HBOC) and has contributed to their Birding Guide for the Hunter Wetlands Centre as well as their other publications and guided birding photo walks. Stephanie holds a Diploma in Arts from Newcastle School of Arts and currently runs her own commercial photography business servicing the Hunter region.

The Ramsar Listed Hunter Wetlands Centre is a hotspot for Australian native birds with almost 200 avian species arriving annually. Our 5 dedicated hides and numerous seated spots by ponds and bush tucker gardens allow close observation of water and bush birds offering some of the best birdwatching and photography opportunities in the Hunter Estuary.
