In a first for the Hunter Wetlands we have curated an exhibition entirely showcasing the work of young artists of the Hunter Region.
These exciting emerging artists were invited to submit their portfolios and subsequently began the process of creating artworks specifically for an exhibition inspired by the Hunter Wetlands. The artists spent time on the grounds discovering our wetlands nature and exploring their artistic styles while also learning about the fundamentals of staging an exhibition. This unique opportunity allowed the children to explore their artistry from a creative and professional perspective.
The result is an exhibition featuring a fresh interpretation of the wetlands by 18 young artists aged between ages 6-16. It is a fantastic collection of vibrant, colourful, and varied artworks that present together in a comprehensive and complimentary showcase of local youth art.
"How privileged are we to have these artworks, all telling an original story, an interpretation of our wetlands, through young eyes." Mark Kempton (Volunteer Art Curator)
Please consider purchasing one of the artworks for your home or office. Not only are they a beautiful momento of the Hunter's wetlands and wildlife, you'll be suporting emerging young local artists and also supporting the Hunter Wetlands Centre, with 25% of the sale price going to benefit our programs.
