Hunter-based photographer Laurie Bartlett presents us with very personal view of the wildlife and scenery of the Hunter Wetlands Centre.
Laurie's exhibition consists of a unique collection of both realistic and artistic styles of photo imagery printed on different mediums such as cotton, silk and metal offering a unique interpretation on everyday objects found in our natural landscapes.
While Laurie's intention is to showcase the intrinsic beauty of an object in a fleeting moment in time, it is also his hope that his photography is used to educate the public on nature and conservation. Drawing on his background in Marine Science and Biology, Laurie sees photography as a way to explore, see, learn and understand the natural world. In this way, the camera becomes a tool of both art and science.
