Join us for an engaging and informative talk exploring Australian fauna and flora, and the challenges they increasingly face—often from our own backyards.
Presented by Hunter Wetlands Centre Directors and Guides Michele Keith and Carolyn Gillard, this session offers thoughtful insights, surprising connections, and a deeper appreciation of the delicate balance within our natural world.
Michele draws on her strong background in birdlife and her passion for our native species as she explores the story of the Glossy Black Cockatoo. Carolyn brings her extensive expertise in botany and native plant ecosystems, discussing the importance of Sheoaks and the growing issue of escaped garden plants, including their management.
Following the talk, enjoy a delicious morning tea and a short guided walk through our Casuarina forest.
This event aligns with the CWA Agricultural & Environmental Committee’s 2026 focus on Fauna, Flora and Foes.
