Magpie Geese Feeding - Daily 10.30am - FREE

Reptile Talk - Ring for date and times.

Get up close & learn about our resident reptiles - Snake, Turtles, Chocodile and Lizards.

Wetlands Explorer - collect your map, follow the trail, answer the questions and go in the draw to win a Wetlands goodies pack - FREE

Dipnetting - collect a net, a bucket and a species guide and see what you can find in the pond - Gold coin donation

Walking & Bike Riding Trails - bring your bike or hire one of ours and cycle

Program for September/October School Holidays 2016

Kids – become a citizen scientist

Collect wetlands bird feathers

Help wetland birds and protect their precious habitats

Project Leader Dr Kate Brandis from the ANTSO and the University of NSW will explain how nuclear techniques can be used to track the movement of water birds, creating the first ever Feather Map of Australia

Come and join us for bird spotting and feather collecting – get to know our wetland birds.

Wednesday 28th September

For kids 7 to 10 years                      10am – 12:30pm

For kids 11 to 14 years                   10am - 12:30pm

Wetlands Explorer      For 4 to 12 year

Available any time during the school holidays.   Cost: Free

Collect your map and follow the trail. Answer the questions and become a Wetlands Explorer. Go into the draw for a weekly prize.

The Hunter Wetlands Centre is a wonderful place to take some time out. Plenty of tracks to go walking, a discovery trail, dipnetting and super fun playground will have your 'gang' entertained for hours. Try canoeing  or experience our interactive reptile talk. Bring  a picnic and laze under a shady tree enjoying the beautiful grounds or take advantage of Spoonbill Cafe which offers great lunches, morning tea or afternoon tea with unique views. The Hunter Wetlands Centre changes rapidly with the seasons an



Vacation Care Centre Directors are invited to bring groups of 12 or more to the Hunter Wetlands Centre for one of our special school holiday programs. Staff from the Hunter Wetlands Centre will guide your students on a fun day of outdoor adventure and learning. For the School Holidays we can again offer a choice of:

1. Bush Adventure Day*              Cost: $14 per child

2. Wetlands Explorers*                Cost: $14 per child

3. Self Guided program*             Cost $5 per child.
