HUNTER WETLANDS GOES SOLAR
Hunter Wetlands Centre Australia (HWCA) is emabarking on its Hunter Wetlands Solar project in partnership with the Clean Energy Association of Newcastle and Surrounds (CleanaS) to install 48 panels on the roof of the Centre in Shortland, Newcastle.
Your help is needed!
"For a $500 tax deductable donation you can sponsor a solar panel on our roof. Our goal is to raise $20,000 in donations ...... so we can install the panel by July," said Dr Blanch.
There has been a great response so far, with almost half the funds raised. But we still need your support to complete the project.

Hunter Wetlands Centre Australia has decided to open a Cafe Press store! this means will soon be selling merchandise such as shirts, hats and bags for all to see! But first we need some designs! That's where you come in! download the entry form here for all the details you'll need and send in something beautiful! Entry is free and you can send in as many designs as you like! Winners will receive free membership and a free copy of their shirt and of course will have their design added to the store! So get designing!

JULY SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES AT THE WETLANDS
Watch the magpie geese being fed at 10.30am & 2.30pm; try dipnetting; enjoy time at the playground; climb the egret tower; bring your bike (or hire one) and ride around the wetlands; meet Basil the snake and Timmy the turtle at an interactive reptile encounter (daily except Mondays); become an official 'Wetlands Explorer' and go in the draw to win a wetlands goodies pack. Enjoy lunch at Spoonbill Cafe or bring a picnic or book a BBQ. There's lots to do at the Wetlands!
Book your place in the Bush Skills Adventure Program (8-12 years) on Wednesday 1 July or Thursday 9 July 9.30am-12.30pm @ $20.00 per child. The Wriggly Wetlanders Program (5 - 8 years) is offered on Wednesday 1 July and Tuesday 7 July 10am - 12.30pm @ $20 per child.

Hunter Estuary Wetlands Conservation - Get Involved!
Discover the natural values of the Hunter Estuary Wetlands and see how community volunteers are helping conserve the estuary. An amazing way to discover our beautiful 45 hectare site, you will journey through varied terrain with lots to see & explore with a trained guide.
It is a unique, sustainable and environmentally friendly method of transport, emitting no harmful fumes and is virtually silent with a minimal impact to the surroundings and is most suitable for accessing areas with wildlife.
Tours run every Sunday 10am and 12:30pm and 2:30pm. We are now running midweek tours Monday to Thursday 10am and 2.30pm. Please check availability upon booking.
Cost: $65 adults/ $60 kids 17 and under. All prices includes wetlands entry.
*Please note children must be a minimum age of 11.
