BIRDMAN COMES TO NEWCASTLE!

Birdman events are held all over the world from the UK to Japan. The Birdman is a fun and exciting spectacle and the Hunter Wetlands Centre will host this major charity fundraiser in Newcastle on Sunday 22nd April 2012 at Lee Wharf, Honeysuckle.

WE WANT YOU! THE CALL FOR COMPETITORS IS NOW OPEN

Birdman Competitors - Spread your wings and see how far you can fly for the wetlands! Build or modify your own craft or costume and see if you can go the distance into Newcastle Harbour. A spectacular and entertaining challenge with great prizes to be won for distance and entertainment.

Corporate Teams - Also calling for teams for the Wetlands Corporate Charity Challenge - a canoeing, human foosball and Seg-lympic extravaganza! Be quick, there are limited places!

Wetlands Photography Competition/ Exhibition opening

Our Wonderful Wetlands Photo Exhibition official opening is this Thursday 15th December from 5 - 6.30pm. Winners will be announced at 6pm. All welcome!

The exhibition runs at the Hunter Wetlands Centre until Monday 6th February 2012. Come and cast your vote for The Newcastle Herald People's Choice Award.

Hunter Wetlands Christmas closing time

The Hunter Wetlands Centre will be closed from 24th December until the 3rd January 2012. All the staff and volunteers would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
