Welcome - Winter is a wonderful time to visit the Wetlands!

Welcome to the Hunter Wetlands Centre, a great place to reconnect with nature. Hire canoes, ride a Segway, enjoy a guided walking tour, explore our Bush Tucker Garden, hire a Bike and enjoy a hot meal or snack at our Spoonbill Cafe. We are open 7 days 9am - 4pm.

All tickets $5,      Pre-schoolers (3 - 5yrs) $2,      Under 3yrs Free.   Family ticket $15.    Children 5 - 12yrs $2 during school holiday periods.

Bike Hire  now available

From early January you can experience the wetlands by bike - choose from a mountain bike, a retro cruiser, bikes for kids, bike that safely double kids or even our tandum! We have bike helmuts - just bring your family, your friends, your water bottle and sense of fun. Bike are available on a first come basis. 

 

Spoonbill Cafe

The cafe is located upstairs in our visitors centre and is a great spot for lunch or coffee.  Looking for somewhere 'out of the box' for your private function with great views, great food and service? . Birdcage Collection Drive

Do you have an old birdcage lying around that you don't want or use? The Hunter Wetlands Centre are collecting birdcages for an onsite project. All birdcages are welcome- they do not have to have a bottom in them. Please drop them into the centre or if you are in town, cages can be dropped into Inner City Winemakers, Church St, Wickham.

An amazing way to discover our beautiful 45 hectare site, you will journey through varied terrain with lots to see & explore with a trained guide.

It is a unique, sustainable and environmentally friendly method of transport, emitting no harmful fumes and is virtually silent with a minimal impact to the surroundings and is most suitable for accessing areas with wildlife.

Tours run every Sunday 10am and 12:30pm and 2:30pm. We are now running midweek tours Monday to Thursday 10am and 2.30pm. Please check availability upon booking.

Cost: $65  adults/ $60 kids 17 and under. All prices includes wetlands entry.

Discover your true nature - Volunteer today!!

The Hunter Wetlands Centre is a self-funded community organisation with full charity status. We rely on the generosity and great variety of skills volunteers can offer to keep our centre running. If you are interested in volunteering at the Hunter Wetlands Centre you can contact us to answer your enquiries via email volunteering@wetlands.org.au We are always keen to welcome new volunteers and run regular Volunteer Inductions which you can book in with us on (02) 4951 6466
