Visitors Centre Main Floor Revamp

This project has involved repairs to the roof and ceiling and creation of a  "Reptile Stadium". The roof and ceiling repairs were funded by the NSW State Government under the 2009 Community Building Parterships Program.

The Reptile Stadium works featured in photos below were funded with contributions from our own budget, The Newcastle City Council, Native Animal Trust Fund and the Hunter Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority. On completion it will feature native fish displays, turtles, various lizards, non-venomous snakes, a freash water crocodile, weeds of national significance and other native flora and flauna.

The area will be used for educational displays and interactive animal familiarisation sessions involving staff, student and the public. The Reptile Display and Visitors Centre refurbishment will be officially opened on Tuesday 21st June.
